First, I realized that it takes a long time to write an admissions essay. Originally, I had thought it would be similar to my prior experience of writing essays in school; however, the introduction advised me to “[S]start thinking about the essay early. (Harvard Crimson 4)” The essays were based on experiences from the writer's past even when the author was a little child. Since I had already written my personal narrative for my summative English assignment, I thought that I could apply this experience to writing college applications. Therefore, I decided to accumulate precious episodes in my mind from now on for my college essay.
